I love portrait photography and working with people but taking the time to give something else a go is always a good idea. There is a lot to learn from doing something different. So, on a cold winters day my family and I visited one of our local National Trust sites, Blickling Hall, and took a walk around the frozen lake.
Shooting into the sun isn't normally the best way but the low sun was as much part of the landscape as the trees and the lake. I knew would be able to recover the image in post and I bumped up my f.stop to get a star burst from the sun. Compositionally, I aimed to use leading lines and created depth by making sure there was some fore and mid ground interest. I think they came out quite well.
